Forsyth County Public Hearing Regarding Proposed Changes to Unified Development Code: Outdoor Lighting

A public hearing regarding proposed changes to the Unified Development Code is scheduled for the June 5 Board of Commissioners meeting. The purpose of the public hearing shall be to present changes related to outdoor lighting found within Chapters 3 and 16 of the Unified Development Code. Cumming/Forsyth County - Outdoor Water Restrictions for New Landscaping Modified

Forsyth County’s outdoor water restrictions have been modified to align with those of the state of Georgia. The only change resulting from these modifications involves exemptions for new landscaping.

Those who successfully complete an Outdoor Water Use Registration Program are allowed to water newly installed landscape up to three days a week following the odd-even schedule for a period of ten weeks following planting. Program registrants learn proper watering techniques and the importance of water conservation. The Outdoor Water Use Registration Program is available online at www.urbanagcouncil.com.

To be eligible for this exemption, the landscaping should have been in place less than 30 days. The watering must occur on the designated odd-even days within the hours of midnight to 10 a.m. Odd-numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Cumming / Alpharetta Real Estate Market Report - December 2007

Well, the numbers are out for December. 2007 is behind us but the road doesn’t seem any less bumpy. Recession is on everyone’s mind. The recent rate cut certainly helps and we can expect more, possibly another 0.5%. But what does all this mean for the housing market?

I’ve been saying for the past three months that we were nearing our bottom and the numbers in Atlanta were stabilizing. Here’s what I mean…

For all of Metro Atlanta the picture may not be quite as bright as North Atlanta but remember that when the national news talks about housing market declines they are generally referring to the West, Southwest and Northeast. For example, take a look at the comparison for single family homes in North Fulton – West of 400 (this area includes the cities of Milton and portions of Alpharetta and Roswell ):

The total number of closings are down, which is no surprise. Closings have been down all year long for all of Metro Atlanta. But this is a hefty increase in average sales price. [Read more →]
